Whether it’s goosebumps you crave or ‘spooktacular’ fun with your wee goblins, the Fraser Valley is home to plenty of thrills and chills leading up to Oct.31.
From mysterious mazes and some seriously creepy haunted houses to eerie train rides and tales told graveside, here is your ultimate guide to Halloween in the Fraser Valley for 2017.
TOP HAUNTS IN ‘THE VALLEY’
I ain’t afraid of no ghost, but are you? Here’s your chance to come face-to-face with some lost souls of the Fraser Valley. Just be careful that none follow you home.
1. Potters House of Horrors
Complete with a with a state-of-the-art sound system, the latest in animatronics and live actors, this is seriously one of the spookiest spots in ‘the Valley.’ Those who dare are in for one heck of a scare! L’il Haunters is new(ish) for 2017 — a kids-only attraction (suitable for kids 12 & under) with two mini haunted houses that aren’t too dark or scary and contain no animatronics or actors. Li’l Haunters is not made to frighten children, but more to introduce them to the extremely thrilling and magical world of community haunted house. 2. Reapers Haunted Attraction
Exciting new scares and themes await each weekend, delivering big thrills and plenty of spine-tingling chills at this popular Chilliwack haunt.
Where: 9423 Gibson Road, Chilliwack
Sandpiper Sanitarium in Abbotsford will be running for its 4th year, collecting donations for Canuck Place.
This Valley haunt features seven scare rooms that aren’t for the faint of heart and is recommended for children 8 and up. Open rain or shine.

4. Haunted Forest Scream Train
Every October the forest at Bear Creek Park comes alive with ghosts and ghouls intent on scaring you amidst creepy sounds and special effects. With returning characters like Chainsaw Charlie, you might run into the walking dead who roam the platform every Halloween.

5. Grave Tales
The popular Grave Tales historic walking tours are back! Spine-chilling stories are depicted at night by expert storytellers as you walk through the Fort Langley village. Choose from the youth or adult-only version. As of this year, there’s also a late-night walk that begins at 9 p.m. and includes additional tales. There is lots of festive fun that isn’t so terrifying for both the young and young at heart.
6. Pumpkin Express
Travel through the decorated forest with a special tasty treat to enjoy. Afterwards, your child can take part in the crafts and activities under the tent on the platform and play the Halloween games. 7. Kids Fort Langley Halloween
On Oct. 29th from noon to 5 p.m., Trick-or-treat at Fort Langley National Historic Site! Gather around the bonfire for ghost stories, explore the Spooky Servants Quarters and get an airbrush tattoo. If you dare, give yourselves goose bumps meeting some of “Mike’s Critters” creepy companions. Fun and not too scary, this event is great for families. Wear your costumes for great photos.

8.Trick or Treat Parade at Willowbrook Shopping Centre
Willowbrook Shopping Centre’s Trick or Treat Parade returns from 5:00pm to 6:00pm on October 31. Entry is by donation and includes a ‘trick or treat’ bag and goodies*. Please enter at the following Willowbrook entrances: Sport Chek, Swimco, Tim Hortons, and Starbucks to collect your goodie bag and treats. Proceeds from the event will go to the Langley School District Foundation to support innovative and essential school programs for Langley students. Greeting stations open at 4:30pm. *While supplies last. Suggested donation $2 per child. Cash only.
