While the mercury continues to dip, hockey season is just heating up.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, the Langley Rivermen play against the Surrey Eagles in the Basics for Babies Kick Off Event — a nail-biting game that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Make sure to grab your tickets and cheer on these two awesome teams from ‘the Valley.’

And if you’re planning to attend, make sure bring new diapers — no not for yourself, but to toss un-opened diapers on the ice at the game. All diapers will be donated to the 2014 Basics for Babies Winter campaign. Game starts at 7 p.m. (Doors open at 6 p.m.) at the Langley Events Centre.

The Basics for Babies program, founded and operated by JRFM in support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society, assists families coping with the challenges of raising a young infant by providing them with needed food, formula and diapers.
