While various baby and child-oriented trade shows have popped up in ‘the Valley’ in recent years, a one-day fete is coming to town that will offer interactive fun for the whole family.

On Saturday, Sept. 27, The Belly, Baby and Kid Show will kick off at the Cloverdale Fair Grounds –attendees will experience loads of exciting entertainment, have a chance to visit with vendors and partake in other interactive fun for expecting parents and parents with kids up to 10 years of age.

The Belly Baby & Kid Show originated from the Belly Baby & Tot show back in 2011, which was tested on a smaller scale to see if there was a demand and interest in the Tri-Cities Area. The concept has since been re-branded and re-developed by Show Producer Amanda Collett.

“We tried out a larger venue, but once again not too large to really see if families were interested in our concept this past March 2014 and whoa!” said Collett.

“We were more surprised than anyone with the turnout and quickly realized we needed a way bigger venue to accommodate the number of families we had come through our doors… So here we are, bigger and better!”

As a mother herself to two little beans, Collett knows firsthand what things parents are looking for to entertain their kids, parenting wants, needs and must-haves that are important. This is the beginning of how the show really was formed.

“It truly is a “cross” per say between a festival and a tradeshow event,” she explained, noting that the overall concept is about showcasing a variety of products and services, ranging from expectant parents through to kids up to approx. 10 yrs of age.

“All of our vendors provide an interactive and entertaining experience down to our littlest attendees. While we have some amazing giveaways, prizes and fantastic entertainment and contests keeping it fun!”

From Nursing Stations, Disney & imagination characters, lighting and decor, the stage of performances, workshops and seminars, the show is a unique opportunity to have fun while discovering all the great resources and vendors available to parents and expectant parents in their community, including cloth diapers, birthday parties, kids fashion, science experiments & more!

And for parents and expectant parents feeling ill-prepared in the event that their little one was to start choking, the BBKS is offering a basic first aid workshop taught by experienced Infant CPR Trainers.

“We will have dummies there to test and learn on, “said Collett.

“We recommend bringing your car seat or stroller for putting your baby down during these sessions. There will be some baby toys out and in a safe atmosphere if you’re little one is awake and alert!”

Please note: this is a Non-Certified Program that is solely about educating parents so they feel prepared in any situation with their own child as we are all about creating awareness. Each participant will leave with handouts to take home as well.  Be sure to check back for registration as there are only 3 available class times and only up to 24 spots per class (based on couples & individual registration).

Registration fees for the Infant CPR program are: $25 per individual or $40 per couple – this also includes admission into the show.

Admission into the Belly, Baby, & Kid Show is $5 per adult – Partial proceeds go to Basics for Babies. Kids enter FREE. Two-Hundred Swag Bag Giveaways for the first 100 people at 10 a.m. & 1 p.m.
