With just a couple of weeks left until the kiddies are back in school, a trip to Splashdown Waterpark in sunny Tsawwassen is the perfect way to bid farewell to to the dog days of summer.

Recently, Jason and I spent an entire glorious day at this popular family attraction and had just as much fun as our two girls, Molly, 5, and Zoe, 3.

We arrived bright and early to claim our spot, set up our shade tent, slapped on some serious SPF and went straight for the big slides. Having gone on a weekday, we were pretty excited that the lines were minimal.
At most, there were only a few people ahead of us at any given time. Since our little Valley gals are two young to slide solo, we each had one on our lap — boy did they have a blast. And so did we!!!
For myself, the best part was hearing Zoe’s giggles the entire way down.
“Faster mommy, faster!” she squealed every time.
After around an hour of straight sliding and splashing, we headed to their snack shop — it seems sliding will help you work up quite the appetite.
I expected regular concession fare like hot dogs, burgers and fries to be on the menu, but was pleasantly surprised by the various ‘grown up’ options.
With a cool breeze blowing, the sun shining done and uplifting tunes in the background, I felt as though we were whisked away to some tropical oasis.
The manager of Splashdown even came out to meet and greet us — now that’s a job I seriously envy. How fun would it be to hang out in the sunshine and be around happy people all day while soaking up some serious vitamin D?
