What’s Happening for Father’s Day in the Fraser Valley

Let’s face it, dad’s can be so tough to shop for. Instead of another set of BBQ tongs or a golf club cover, treat the special guy in your life to the gift of a fun family day that’s all about him!

I’ve done some digging on what’s happening here in the Fraser Valley, so all you have to do is pick an activity or event.

Father’s Day Open House  

Historic Stewart Farm l June 16 l 11am-3pm l Free

Take Dad out for a memorable date at Historic Stewart Farm for a ton of locomotive family fun, featuring:

  • The Greater Vancouver Garden Railway Club and their display model trains
  • Train rides courtesy of the Pacific Trackless Trains (rides by CASH donation)
  • Choo choo crafts to make Dad a special Father’s Day card
  • Conductor style dress up
  • Sack races with Dad on the lawn
  • Lemonade and coffee on the farmhouse verandah
  • Baked treats made on the wood burning stove in the farmhouse kitchen
  • Tours of the restored 1890s farmhouse with a costumed guide

Father’s Day Wine & Swine

Township 7 Winery l June 16 l 12-2pm or 2:30-4:30pm l $33 per adult plus tax; $20 per child plus tax 

A Fathers day tradition at Township 7. Taste three fantastic BBQ pork dishes catered by Smoke & Bones, paired with one of their handcrafted Township 7 wines.

Pops, Props & Hops

Museum of Flight l June 16 l 10am-4pm l Dads get in free with one paid admission

Looking for a fun place to take your dad for father’s day? The Museum of Flight has just the event, with museum tours, vintage airplane flyovers, mini golf putting, a beer garden, and food trucks on site!

Father’s Day Run

Vedder River Trail l June 16 l 8am-11am l Free

Bring your dad or just come out to help support all the men you know. This race has something for everyone and it is all free with your registration fee. There will be lots of seating for those who are just there to cheer everyone on, along with Dilly the Clown and Miss Donna to entertain the kids. Enjoy a free hot and tasty pancake and sausage breakfast provided by the Mount Cheam Lions Club

  • 8 – 9:30 AM Registration
  • 9:30 AM Race start time
  • 10:30 AM Pancake breakfast and entertainment
  • 11:00 AM Prizes

They’ll also be grilling their new plant-based burgers! Made primarily from black beans with no soy, no animal protein, and no gluten (not a gluten-free facility).

 

Maple Ridge Food Truck Festival

Memorial Peace Park l June 16 l 11am-6pm

The 1st Annual Maple Ridge Street Festival/Car Free Day featuring 24 food trucks is happening on Father’s Day. Come early and enjoy the pancake breakfast and buy dad a beer at the Local Craft Beer garden. There will be plenty to see and do, including:

Roaming Kids Entertainment & Face Painting
Artisan Marketplace ft. many local vendors
