Things to do in the Fraser Valley for Mother’s Day

Since many of you have been asking us what’s happening in the Fraser Valley for Mother’s Day, we figured it was high-time we whipped up our annual list. Once again, there’s no need to venture far to celebrate this special day with your mom.

Whether it’s a traditional brunch or high-tea that tickles her taste buds, or perhaps a gardening demos and wine tasting, ‘the Valley’ is bloomin’ with all kinds of events and activities for that special lady in your life who gave you life.

Here are some fun and tasty things to do in the Fraser Valley for Mother’s Day 2015.

1.Bloom Market

For a bloomin’ good time with mom, head on over to the historic Community Hall in Fort Langley this Mother’s Day for the Bloom Market. This shopping extravaganza features  over 25 local artisans who create fine art, jewelry, baby items, home decor, treats and even flowers for Mom.

When: Saturday and Sunday, May 9-10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Fort Langley’s Historic Community Hall, located at 9167 Glover Road, Fort Langley

Cost: Admission is $2 (kids 12 and under free). Admission donated to a local charity.

2. Mothers Day Dinner at Krause Berry Farms

Spoil your mom for Mothers Day by making a reservation at Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery for Mothers’ Day Dinner on Saturday, May 9th or Mothers’ Day. The meal will be prepared by Master Chef Wolfgang Schmelcher of the Farmer’s Table Cooking School. Don’t delay – spots are filling up fast! 3. Mothers Day Brunch at Redwoods Golf Course

Treat the family to the best view in Langley while enjoying your brunch favourites at Redwoods Golf Course.

4. Seedy Mother’s Day Celebration

Celebrate all things gardening this Mother’s Day! FREE at the Langley Demonstration Garden. 12:30 – learn how to make the most out of limited yard space by growing in containers. 1:30 – bring your seed-saving questions for a workshop with David Catzel of Glorious Organics Farm. Exchange your saved or leftover seeds to jazz up your garden! Seedlings, fruit trees, and high tea for sale, too.

5. Brunch at Newlands

It is time to show some love to your Mom with something else than flowers and chocolates… what about a nice brunch at Mr A’s Patio Restaurant? Call 604-533-3288 to reserve.

When: Sunday, May 10

Where: Newlands Golf Course, 20125 48th Ave., Langley

Cost: The buffet is $36.95 per person (Beverages, tax and gratuity extra) for adults, and $18.50 per child 6-12yrs (5 and under free).

6. Mother’s Day Tea

Bring mom to the Historic Stewart Farmhouse for a tasty teatime. Select a seating and enjoy cucumber sandwiches and woodstove-baked goodies on the verandah. Tour the garden and make a card just for Mom. Click HERE for more info.

7. Mother’s Day at The Glades

Celebrate Mother’s Day in a stunning woodland garden. Enjoy live music from the Armadillo String Quartet among masses of rhododendrons in full bloom. 8. Chilliwack Hospice Society’s Annual Breakfast

The Chilliwack Hospice Society Thrifty Boutique is holding their Mother’s Day Breakfast on May 11Delicious Pancake and sausage breakfast provided the Chilliwack Dogwood Monarch Lions Club. Breakfast is available by donation with all proceeds going to Chilliwack Hospice Soceity. All clothing and jewelry 30% off from 9:30am-1:00pm. Funds raised at the Thrifty Boutique fund Hospice programs and services that are provided free of charge to the residents of Chilliwack and Agassiz.

9. Think Pink for Mother’s Day

Help mom see the world through Rosé coloured glasses! This Mother’s Day Township 7 Winery in Langley is celebrating with the long awaited release of their 2014 Rosé wine.  Treat mom to a refreshing glass (or bottle or two) of this pretty in pink wine along with a delicious progressive luncheon and grooving tunes at this south Langley winery.

When: Sunday, May 10 from noon to 4 p.m.
