It’s that time of year where men, women and children sport poppies on their clothing to pay tribute and remember the Canadian men and women who sacrificed their lives while protecting the freedoms of our country.
This Friday, November 11th, many of us will also attend Remembrance Day ceremonies in our communities where two minutes of silence is followed by the tradition of wreaths being laid at local war memorials. In some parts of the Fraser Valley there will be parades, followed by free activities for families.
Not sure which one to attend? We’ve got you covered!

Is there an event we missed? Let us know and we’ll be happy to add it to this roundup. I’m not quite sure where my clan will be November 11th, but I do know that we’ll likely pay a visit to my grandpa’s retirement community. He’s 93 and has lots of great stories about the war.
