Hey there, good looking! Remember me? It’s been a hot minute, a year, or maybe even a decade (okay, not that long, but it feels like it!). But guess what? I’m back, baby! That’s right, yours truly is dusting off the keyboard, cracking the knuckles, and diving headfirst into blogging once more. So, what’s been cooking in my crazy world? Oh, just a little bit of everything. Get comfortable.
First off, let me give you the lowdown on the rollercoaster ride that has been my life lately. Buckle up, beautiful, ’cause it’s been a wild one.
I Graduated from PDP and Now Teach Grade 3
So, picture this: your friendly Fraser Valley blogger, decided to take a little detour from the blogging scene and head back to school. And not just any school, mind you – I dove headfirst into the world of education and emerged as a full-fledged elementary school teacher. That’s right, I’m now the proud captain of a classroom full of energetic third-graders, armed with nothing but a whiteboard and a boatload of enthusiasm. And let me tell you, it’s been one heck of a ride!
D-I-V-O-R-C-E
But that’s not all, folks. Oh no, life had a few more curveballs to throw my way. In the midst of lesson planning and chalk dust, I found myself navigating the choppy waters of a 19-year marriage. Yep, you read that right – after nearly two decades of togetherness, my ex and I made the tough call to go our separate ways. It has been the most painful experience of my adult life but through it I have learned so much about myself and have found strength I never knew I had.
An Unconventional Living Arrangement
Now, here’s where things get really interesting. With the housing market resembling something straight out of a bidding war battlefield, selling the family home wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. So, what’s a couple of exes to do? Enter: nesting. Yep, you heard me correctly – we currently take turns living in the family nest while we sort out our next moves. It’s unconventional, it’s a little chaotic and weird, but hey, it works for us.
New Relationship
Oh, and did I mention the dating scene? Yep, both me and the ex have dipped our toes back into the murky waters of romance and have emerged with new partners. And while it’s been equal parts exhilarating and terrifying, I’m happy to report that we’re both navigating this brave new world with grace (well, most of the time, anyway!).
How are My Girls Handling all of This?
But enough about my personal life – let’s talk about the real MVPs of this whole adventure: my two incredible daughters. Gone are the days of playground playdates and pushing them on the swings – these days, it’s all about chauffeuring them to Sephora and shuttling them between extracurricular activities. And let me tell you, watching them grow into strong, independent young women has been the greatest adventure of all. You probably won’t see them much on here out of respect for their privacy.
Why the Return to Blogging?
So, why am I dusting off the old blog and diving back into the world of online musings at the age of 42? Well, dear readers, it’s simple: I’ve missed having a creative outlet. I’ve missed sharing my thoughts, my adventures, and my misadventures with all of you. And most of all, I’ve missed connecting with this incredible community of like-minded individuals. Sadly, my old Facebook account was hacked so I lost upwards of 5,000 followers. Would really appreciate your support in following my new page and spreading the word by sharing my posts or inviting friends to follow along.
So, consider this my official re-entry into the blogosphere. I’ve got a whole new outlook on life, a whole lot of stories to tell, and a whole bunch of topics I can’t wait to tackle. From the highs and lows of teaching to the joys and challenges of joint custody parenthood, I’ll be sharing it all right here. So, buckle up, my friends – it’s gonna be one heck of a ride!
