Equine enthusiasts from all over the world gathered in celebration of the FEI Nations Cup — the only Canadian stop for the international competition featuring Canada, the United States, Mexico and Ireland.
This prestigious team-jumping competition had nations vying for a chance to compete at the World Championships in Barcelona next September.
While Team Mexico secured the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup, Team Canada filled the runner-up spot. Ireland placed third. Go Canada!
I don’t know much at all about the equestrian world, but that certainly didn’t take away from the whole experience.
It was a lot of fun to walk the grounds and check out everything that was going on, including the live music, food trucks, happy families picnicking in the park, pony rides, champagne and more. Check out my day at Thunderbird Show Park in photos.

It was a sold-out show! Nice to see lots of families with little ones out.
It was a sizzling hot day, but there were plenty of options for refreshments.
I enjoyed going behind the scenes to watch as competitors were getting ready.
