With real estate prices still sky-high, home buyers are looking to move away from Metro Vancouver in search of affordable housing in the Fraser Valley.
On a personal note, I know a lot of families who have recently packed up and moved to Mission, B.C., or are considering making the move in the near future.
What used to be known as a sleepy small town with sprawling farmland, is now a thrilling cultural scene with numerous recreational activities and eclectic businesses.
There’s also the affordability factor, which is a huge draw. For those considering making Mission home-sweet-home, Heinrichs Developments introduces Silver Creek Townhomes in Mission, B.C.
A series of 38 townhomes, the development is one of the last affordable developments in the region.
Let’s take a little virtual peek.
Developer Gerald Heinrichs says Mission has been underdeveloped in the past so the community stayed small but with the region growing, the city has amenities that are attractive to first time homebuyers and retirees.
“Mission has great access to recreation, hiking, fishing, golfing, and fishing. For a town with a small footprint and feel, it has great infrastructure, the West Coast Express into Vancouver, parks, and schools.”
The thought of travelling from Mission to Downtown Vancouver is daunting for many but with the West Coast Express, the trip is around an hour and 15 minutes, which is what most people spend in traffic. Instead, you can work and relax on the train in and out of Mission.
The homes are three and four bedroom homes starting at 1450 sq feet and start at $359,000 for the remaining phase of development.
“Our homes are well thought out with modern finishes. They also have full size driveways along with two full parking spots and a fenced outdoor space along with a sun deck,” says Heinrichs.
For those wanting to check out Silver Creek IRL (in real life), the sales centre is located at 2016 at Unit 406 32789 Burton Ave, Mission B.C.
Heinrichs is a family owned company. Gerald Heinrichs has been in building developments for 25 years, most recently working with the Mission Group. With family roots in the Fraser Valley, the company is local and understands the needs of the area.

September 23, 2016 at 4:35 pmMission is certainly growing. I was working with the Mission Record newspaper there this summer, and heard from people that housing prices have close to doubled in the past year. There are still many affordable homes though. There is most definitely a lively cultural scene and it is a very friendly town. The downtown is very interesting and there is a great craft brewery/restaurant called Mission Springs.
