Harrison Festival of the Arts: A Fun Family Affair

Our hotel is booked and we’re counting down the days until our next visit to Harrison Hot Springs this summer.

We’ll be staying for two nights to experience the 40th Annual Harrison Festival of the Arts, which is happening on the main strip July 6-15. I’m so excited – especially with Molly and Zoe showing such an interest lately in the arts.

Harrison Festival of the Arts

Set against the backdrop of magnificent mountains and the sandy beaches of Harrison Lake, the Harrison Festival of the Arts has presented the best in Canadian and International performing and visual arts for four decades. I’m really looking forward to grabbing a coffee from a nearby café, soaking up the sun and scenery, while checking out all the creative exhibits with my clan.

The festival has something for everyone, including:

  • Visual and literary arts,
  • Music,
  • Theatre,
  • Large outdoor art and craft market filled with local artisanal products.

There’s even a day dedicated to children, so your little ones can enjoy all the art world has to offer in a hands-on environment. Find out more about Children’s Day.

Best of all, the festival is free of large crowds, line-ups and high-ticket prices that usually accompany an event of this calibre. It’s world-class entertainment, but with a small-town feel. A perfect getaway from hectic city life!

While we’re there, I’m hoping there is also some time to take in the beautiful, lakeside Village of Harrison Hot Springs and lie on the beach with a juicy read.

Harrison Hot Springs is conveniently situated in the heart of the Fraser Valley. It’s a 90-minute drive East of Vancouver, or for our American friends, less than three hours north of Seattle.

If you’re considering attending this event, we highly recommend purchasing tickets before they sell out! Click here to check out the different acts that will be on stage. Psst… kids 12 and under get into all hall shows for free.
