You guys, I am so excited! Two of my all-time favourite 90s’ bands, Sublime with Rome and The Offspring, have teamed up and are touring across Canada this summer, including a stop July 7 at Abbotsford Centre.

As soon as I heard they were coming, I knew I had to get tickets so I could see these two groups perform and revisit my high school days.

It was back in Grade 8, during my Doc Marten and chocolate-brown lip liner and overall with one strap phase, that I couldn’t get enough of The Offspring.

My little white ghetto blaster pumped out “Self Esteem” and “Come Out and Play” on max volume , while I alphabetized my Babysitter Club book collection.

Fast-forward to Grade 12, Sublime became my number one band.  After my shift at the Walnut Grove McDonald’s, I’d pick up my friends and we’d cruise around White Rock singing along to ‘Santeria,’ ‘Wrong Way’ and ‘ ‘What I Got.’

I love that this show is local so there’s no need to worry about parking downtown, paying bridge tolls or getting lost. And, compared to the big shows that have come downtown lately, tickets are on the affordable side.
