Celebrate Fall at Meadows Maze in Pitt Meadows

Summer is officially over, and the cool mornings of autumn are sneaking in. It is time for pumpkins, sweaters and corn mazes.

Before the rain starts to fall, head out to Meadows Maze in Pitt Meadows. Less than 15 minutes from the Golden Ears Bridge, this is more than just a jaunt through the corn.

I took my kiddos over the weekend, and no matter your kids’ ages, it is fun for everyone.

When we arrived, I immediately crammed myself into a barrel with my youngest for a Barrel Train ride, through a tunnel and then through the corn. His train-loving soul was in heaven, and you couldn’t wipe the smile off his face.

To be honest, it was my favourite part. The teens and tweens were having just as much fun being pulled along, and if you know anything about tween-agers, they are hard to impress.

I have never been to such a well-run corn maze before, and there were two different levels of mazes, a tractor-train through the maze, and of course the hay wagon ride. We went on a sunny Sunday afternoon, and since there were so many activities, we didn’t have to wait to do anything.

We managed to meet bees in their hive, alpacas, donkeys, ducks and of course goats, the quintessential farm animal by my standards. The only thing cuter than a baby goat just might be little pigs… Like the ones in the pig races! We got front row seats for the races and we cheered on Hamlet and Jerry Swinefeld as they raced for their corn prize, their floppy pink ears blowing behind them.

The maze is owned by Hopcott Meats, our favourite family-run butcher, which means the food at Meadows Maze is local and delicious. When we left, dusty and tired, the kids were already planning our next trip out. Perhaps we will see you there!

Disclaimer: While I was provided with complimentary passes to the Maze, all opinions are my own.
