During our recent family getaway, we stayed in a gorgeous oceanfront suite at The Beach Club Resort in Parksville, B.C.

Located on the site of the historic Island Hall Resort, the hotel seamlessly blends the best of both worlds – luxurious accommodations and family friendly amenities.

Our family loves visiting Parksville – we go every chance we get.

From the pristine white sandy beaches and picturesque parks to the family friendly attractions and eclectic shops, it has become our second home away from home.

Here are just five things we loved about staying at the Beach Club Resort.

 

1-Location is Everything

The Beach Club Resort is located right in the heart of Downtown Parksville, which means you’re just steps away from one of B.C.’s most gorgeous beaches, a plethora of eclectic shops, bars, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

Molly and Zoe enjoyed visiting the British store across the street (Churchill’s British Imports), which featured all kinds of U.K. novelty items and candy, while Jason and I were so excited to discover the mom n’ pop-style seafood restaurant a few doors down called Aioli.

 

The latter is nothing fancy – picture red and white checkered table cloths, fishnet décor and friendly servers who seem to know many of their customers by name. You can tell this eatery is a huge hit with locals and tourists because it is always busy. BTW, their lobster bisque is out of this world and drink specials are also easy on the wallet.

 

2- Behind Closed Doors

I have to be totally honest, I always get nervous that moment I put the key fob in the door and turn the handle when staying at a new hotel. What if the room is too small, musty or the view disappoints?

Fortunately, our accommodations at The Beach Club Resort certainly didn’t disappoint.

Our guest suites featured: two private balconies, 2 flat screen TV’s, the most spectacular ocean view, a giant soaker tub, bathroom that is bigger than ours at home, king-size bed in a separate room, pullout couch a and beautiful breakfast bar – all decorated in beautifully appointed West Coast décor.

Let’s face it; travelling with kids is costly – especially if you have to eat out for all your meals. Having our own kitchen, complete with a standard-sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave and oven helped us save a bundle. We cooked our own breakfast and stocked the fridge with fresh milk and snacks to last us a couple of days.

There was even a washer and dryer, which would come in handy for extended holidays.

While we stayed in a regular suite, guests can choose from studios or one bedroom and two bedrooms; tower suites, beachfront villa suites and penthouse suites.

 

3-View for Days

From our deck at The Beach Club Resort, we were just a stone’s throw from the east coast of Vancouver Island’s most magnificent Parksville Beach.

After we unpacked, I probably spent a good hour just sitting in the armchair, sipping my tea, while soaking up the view. It was so peaceful and pretty!

 

4-Make a Splash

When visiting a new hotel, one of the first questions my girls always ask is whether or not there’s a pool.

Lucky for them, amenities include a seaside pool and hot tub that overlooks the beach. The pool was packed with lots of young families during our stay, so the girls had a chance to make some friends.

In addition to the pool/hot tub, there’s also a fitness centre, Stonewater Spa and the

Pacific Prime Restaurant and Lounge with its famous beachfront patio just off the Parksville Beach boardwalk.

 

5- Affordability Factor

If you’re looking to get out of town for a couple of nights, The Beach Club Resort offers a handful of promotional packages that won’t break the bank.

 

 

Valley Mom Travel Tip- The ferry does add an extra cost, but we always save up our Save on More points over at Save on Foods and order our ferry passes. This saves us over $100. And yes, it’s a shameless plug because Jason does work for the company, but it’s a great deal.

 

Although it has already been a couple of weeks since our stay at The Beach Club Resort, we are already eager to return to this little slice of Island paradise. With luxury accommodations, spectacular views and close proximity to beautiful beaches, shopping and dining, what else could you ask for?
