Looking for something fun, free and local to here in the Fraser Valley?
Make sure to head on over to Langley City Saturday, April 9 for the Timms Community Centre Open House event between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Festivities will feature a variety of free classes and activities including Yoga-Pilates, Lawn Bowling, Badminton, Spin Fit, Zumba, Volleyball and Bridge, just to name a few.
And Valley moms, you’re going to love this! There are some fabulous FREE demonstration drop-in classes for the kiddies, including: pre-school dance, soccer, and kids’ arts & crafts throughout the day.
As a mom with indecisive kiddies at home, this is a perfect opportunity for us to find a class they’ll actually enjoy and want to stick with.
The Youth Committee will have a fundraising BBQ starting at 11 a.m selling Hotdogs, Pop and Chips combos for $5.50. Bottles of water will also be available for purchase.
Back in the day when Jason and I lived in an apartment in downtown Langley, we had a membership to the workout room in the old Timms Centre. There were a couple of pool tables, shuffleboard and limited workout equipment.
Things have certainly changed.
This new community hub is incredible and so modern. Inside, you’ll find a spacious gymnasium, fitness track, weight room, spin room, games room and multiple multipurpose rooms. Equipped with technologically advanced Technogym cardio equipment, the facility caters to everyone from serious athletes to those looking to get active and have fun.
We are so excited to go back to our old stomping…err, workout grounds and tour the Timms Community Centre with our children.
The Open House begins at 10 a.m. with classes, information booths and live entertainment throughout the day. Here is the schedule of classes:
