Put your hands up if you were in attendance at ‘the Valley’s’ biggest female-centric fete a couple of weeks ago.
We were, we were!
My two little ladies and mom joined me at the 15th annual West Coast Women’s Show (located at the Abbotsford TRADEX) for an afternoon of shopping, sampling, entertainment and good ol’ fashion girl bonding.
This annual female-centric fete, dubbed ‘Western Canada’s Largest Women’s Show,’ was truly a feast for all the senses.
From steamy soap stars, tasty nibbles and delicious sips, to the latest in décor trends, health and wellness, fitness and a wide variety of products and services exclusively for women, there was something for all of us to enjoy.
A big highlight for us was, of course, the shopping. There were well over 400 booths to check out. My mom and I both love looking for hand-made treasures and goodies, which there was no shortage of in the all new Artisan’s Marketplace.
This year, many exhibitors featured exclusive Red Tag Show Specials — there were over 100 to be found, including this booth that offered gorgeous hair extensions.
With five stages scattered throughout the event, there was never a dull moment. While we missed the celebrity appearance by Joshua Morrow (from Young and Restless) and a live performance by Vancouver’s very own female rock icon Bif Naked, we did get to watch a cooking demonstration and watch a barre fitness class in action. I have always wanted to take one of these classes. There was a lot of walking and crowd maneuvering, so this was a nice chance to put our feet up and recharge for a bit.
While I usually tend to avoid crowds, I’m glad we didn’t miss out on attending this event. We didn’t lose a child, break the bank or consume too many calories. All-in-all, I’d say it was a very successful outing!
Next year my mom and I are going to leave the kiddies with my hubs so we can partake in a little wine tasting action.
Missed the event? That’s okay, it will be back next year around the same time. For more information, check out www.westcoastwomen.net.
