The Fort Langley Cranberry Festival has become a Thanksgiving weekend tradition for families all over the Fraser Valley and beyond for the past 22 years.
On Saturday, Oct. 8, thousands will gather once again in historic Fort Langley to celebrate the history and harvest of these delicious little red berries. From unique vendors and free entertainment to a delicious pancake breakfast, food trucks and loads of FREE family activities for all ages, here are just 5 reasons to attend the tartest event in town.

1.A Chance to Stock up on Some of the Trimmings for your Thanksgiving Feast
Along Glover Road in the village of Fort Langley, you’ll find no shortage of vendors — many of whom will be selling seasonal produce and goodies starring the main attraction — fresh cranberries. There will be 10,000 pounds of fresh these little berries for sale, which goes to fund the festival.
2. Cranberry Wine
You know what will pair perfectly with your turkey dinner? How about a tasty bottle of white or red cranberry wine for just $10?Visit The Fort Wine Company , located just 5 km East of Fort Langley Village at 26151 – 84th Ave to pick up a bottle or three.
3. Boat Races
Head on over to the Bedford Channel on festival day to watch as paddlers compete in one of three races, including the Cranberry Race Final. This popular event is hosted by the Fort Langley Canoe Club always makes a big splash.
4. Fun at the Fort
At Fort Langley National Historic Site (23433 Mavis Ave.), Cranberry Day festivities include the popular cranberry stomp, cranberry bannock, cranberry-related games, and a host of farm-related fun. Admission rates apply.
5. The Food
The Fort Langley Lions will be cooking up flapjacks at 10 a.m. There will also be approximately food trucks on site offering berry-themed fare. Make sure to wear your stretchy pants.
With this being one of the most popular annual events in ‘the Valley,’ expect it to be a busy one. Make sure to leave plenty of time to find a parking spot. See you there!
