Make sure you add Maan Farms in Abbotsford to your bucket list this fall.
With activities for all ages, tasty, inventive eats and adorable barnyard animals to visit, there is something for everyone in your family to enjoy –yes, even dad will love it!
Here are just six reasons to fall in love with Maan Farms.
1- The Yum Factor
Mama Maan is the heart and soul of Maan Farms. Nine times out of ten you can find her in the kitchen doing what she loves most. With pumpkin pies to bake, apples to drench in caramel and her famous buttered chicken to make, autumn is one of her busiest seasons — and by the looks of it, the most fun! Her latest creation is all the rage on Instagram right now and I had a chance to experience it for myself. Damn it was good. Like REAL good. I’m talking about her new Fall Feature Pumpkin Ice Cream Dessert. All of the items, including the pumpkin shell grown onsite, have been sourced locally. Don’t delay, these bad boys turn into a pumpkin….err, I mean, disappear from the menu, Nov. 1.
2- P-Patch!
This picture-perfect p-patch looks like it’s straight out of an Insta-feed. All the pretty pumpkins are placed in neat rows, including a few rows of all-white pumpkins for all your Pinterest fall decor needs. Personally, I liked that you didn’t have to take a wagon or walk far to pick the perfect pumpkin. This Valley mom is all about convenience and fun photo ops.
3- The Fun Factor
When we arrived at the farm with our two girls, Molly, 11, Zoe, 9 and niece, Mia, 9, we thought we’d be in and out in an hour. To our surprise, we spent the whole afternoon at Maan Farms as there was plenty of hands-on fun to help the girls burn off all the sugar from their ice cream pumpkin treats. From a massive bouncy pillow (that was fun to watch as kids tried to socially distance) and a zip line to a three-wheel bike race track and tower of tires climbing centre and playground, this kid-friendly destination packs plenty of outdoor fun.
4-Animal Friends
Bunnies, and goats, and turkeys, oh my! As soon as you walk through the entrance of Maan Farms Abbotsford, you’re greeted by some barnyard friends. Make sure to purchase a bag of feed — you make friends easier that way with the four-legged farm folk.
5- Wine Tasting
For those who partake in alcoholic beverages, Maan Farms offers wine tasting of their exclusive berry blends. The Valley Dad wanted me to let you all know the blueberry wine is fantastic. He bought a bottle to enjoy with his turkey dinner at Thanksgiving.
6- Corn Maze(S)
Did you know Maan Farms has two corn mazes? During the day you can take your wee ones to experience the Frozen-themed maze. There are no scary decorations or chainsaw-weilding zombies. The latter is Maan Farms Haunted Corn Maze — one that has been dubbed the “scariest corn maze in Canada.” Each scene has its own challenges that you must conquer in order to make it out alive. With reduced capacity, each visitor will have a more intense experience than ever before. I love me a good scare and had a lot of fun touring the scary maze during a recent date night with the hubs.
Okay, there you have it — six reasons to put on some gum boots, grab a coffee and head out to Abbotsford for this ultimate farm fresh autumn experience right here in the Fraser Valley.
