Looking for some fun things to do in Aldergrove?
While Aldergrove is part of the Township of Langley within British Columbia, Canada, it’s also its own little growing community with plenty of hot spots and hidden gems to discover.
Whether you live in the area or plan to make a visit in the near future, here are just 7 things you need to experience in Aldergrove at least once in your lifetime.
1- Hilltop Cafe
If you’re wanting to grab a bite to eat, make sure to stop at the Hilltop Cafe, located at 23904 Fraser Hwy. This Landmark family-run diner with old-fashioned flair & a classic menu of burgers, breakfast & pie is often used for filming of the Bates Motel and has been featured on the show You Gotta Eat Here. We’ll be featuring this local business as our Valley Hot Spot later this week and will have a giveaway too. Make sure to sign up for our email blast so you don’t miss it!
2- Milsean Shop
No visit to Aldergrove is complete without a visit to Milseán Shop over at 2900 272nd St. This little family operated gem offers a home-style inspired menu using quality, fresh, and whenever possible, organic ingredients. Inspired by flavours of the Fraser Valley, one can choose from their selection of hearty soups, salads, sannies and more, all made in house. Sip on a steeped gourmet tea or indulge in a signature latte while enjoying one of their daily selections of treats and cakes. Sit out on the patio, and enjoy their in-house made seasonal gelato while the sun is still shining. Don’t forget to pick up their renowned Demera Butter Crunch – this tasty treat has received numerous awards, both Canadian and International.
Rolling meadows, mixed forests and views of Mount Baker await you in this regional park. Visitors can explore trails on foot, bicycle or horseback. Picnicking is also popular in the park. The wetlands here are important habitat for a variety of wildlife including frogs, salamanders, beavers and two endangered fish species.
4- Otter Co-op
During a recent visit to this popular retail landmark, located 3650 – 248 Street, I discovered that the Otter Co-op is a pretty cool shopping destination here in Aldergrove that offers so much more than just a place to pick up your milk and bread.
From the bakery that prides itself on making desserts from scratch and butcher’s shop that cuts the meat on site the old-fashioned way to the wide selection of designer clothing, equestrian and farm goods to gifts, toys, pet supplies and so much more, it’s really a one-stop shop for the whole family — one that has been a fixture in the valley since 1922.
5- Fox and Hounds Pub & Restaurant
Located in Aldergrove at 32 Ave, the Fox & Hounds is an English-style inspired neighborhood pub and family restaurant. It seats more than 200 guests and offers a great variety of delicious, made from scratch meals using traditional recipes and the best local ingredients. This popular watering hole offers some great weekly entertainment, including karaoke every Saturday night with 1 Epic Night Entertainment.
Originally introduced to North America in the early 30’s, the drive-in movie theatre has proven popular with motorists for decades.
And while most have vanished over the years, nearing extinction, the outdoor entertainment trend is still as popular as ever in the Fraser Valley.
As one of only three remaining outdoor theatres in B.C., the Twilight Drive-in, located in Aldergrove, is the ultimate blast to the past for all ages. Fall is our favourite time to go because the movies start much earlier, which is a huge perk when you have kids in the backseat who tire early.
7- Aldergrove Water Park
Waterslides and a lazy river and 5o-person hot tub, oh my! There’s a brand new water park coming to Aldergrove this summer that’s part of a the new Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre project.
The Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience water park will feature: three water slides, a huge interactive lazy river, a multi-storey, circus-themed aqua play structure, spray features for preschoolers, a tidal pool with six types of waves and a giant movie screen, a massive hot tub, leisure pool, elaborate dry playground, competition pool, diving boards and more.
The park, located at 27032 Fraser Hwy. is expected to open the Canada Day long weekend!
