8 Summer Date Nights You need to Experience in ‘the Valley’

While it’s nice to head downtown or across the border for a night on the town with your significant, it’s not always convenient (or affordable) for us Fraser Valley moms and dads.

But you know what? That’s okay! There are plenty of incredible local date night destinations that rival the big city that will add some sizzle to your summer.

Check out these 8 summer date nights you need to experience in ‘the Valley’ for 2019.

 

1-Museum After Dark

Leave the kiddos with grandma for this trip to the museum to take in the new LEGO®-themed exhibit in the feature gallery (Worlds of Wonder) after dark. Enjoy live music, food and talks, exclusive to this evening event. Enjoy music from DJ O Show. Cash bar on site. Ticket includes one complimentary drink. 18yrs+.

2-Fort Langley Feasts & Makers Market

 An outdoor foodie event featuring handpicked makers and tasty eats from across the Lower Mainland is coming to Fort Langley this summer. This is the perfect day date featuring over 35 makers, live music and8-10 food trucks.

3- Fraser Valley Cidery

Quench your thirst for romance with a trip to the Lower Mainland’s first craft cidery this summer. Sample from a range of traditionally made ciders and enjoy a chilled glass in the mountain-view picnic area. Charcuterie platters available for purchase! 4-Bard in the Valley

Bring a picnic, come a bit early and enjoy Township 7 wines to accompany their latest alfresco production a la Shakespeare. Note, this is an outdoor performance, so dress weather appropriately. Rain or shine.

When: July 5, 6, 7, 12 & 13

  • Psst….You can also catch this live show on the Spirit Square Stage in Douglas Park in Langley City (July 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28). Admission is free. Sunday performances are matinees only and begin at 2 p.m. Evening performances begin at 7 p.m.

 

5- Twilight Drive-in Theatre

Motor on over to the Twilight Drive-in theatre in Aldergrove for the ultimate retro date. Originally introduced to North America in the early 30’s, the drive-in movie theatre has proven popular with motorists for decades. And while most have vanished over the years, nearing extinction, the outdoor entertainment trend is still as popular as ever in the Fraser Valley.

When: Now until mid-nov.

6-CineplexVIP Movie

Enjoy a VIP movie experience, complete with cocktails and appy’s in a reclining chair at Cineplex Cinemas Abbotsford VIP. We went a couple of years ago and I was so excited I got to relax during the flick with a glass of bubbly and some chicken wings. The cinema is located at The Shops at Highstreet, so arrive early for ample retail therapy time.

7- Sky Helicopters: West Coast Craft Beer Flight

SKY Helicopters is taking BC brewing to great heights with their new West Coast Craft Beer Flight.
